I’ve been sewing since I was about six years old so it wasn’t unexpected that I would make a career in the garment industry. After attending George Brown College in Toronto I worked as a Designer Pattern-maker for the fashion industry full time until my second child was born then I decided to work free lance from home so I could spend more time with my kids.
During that time I discovered quilting which has become my creative outlet. I found that many of the skills I developed working in the fashion industry could be adapted to quilting to make it faster and more accurate.
Working at LA Sewing gives me a chance to share my love of quilting and sewing with so many of our customers teaching classes and helping them out with their projects. Every day I learn something new from one of our great customers. I just enjoy chatting and sharing my love of sewing.
